๐Ÿ“– How It Works

Enter the pack date printed on the egg carton (or the purchase date if unknown) and how you store the eggs. We calculate the egg's age in days and grade its freshness. Refrigerated eggs typically stay good for 4-5 weeks past the pack date; eggs kept at room temperature spoil much faster. Use the float test to double-check: fresh eggs sink, older eggs stand upright, and bad eggs float.

๐Ÿ’ก Why It Matters

๐Ÿฅš Read the Pack Date

Cartons show a pack date (often a Julian date 001-365). Fresher eggs are better for baking.

๐ŸงŠ Keep Them Cold

Refrigeration keeps eggs safe 4-5 weeks; room temperature only about 2 weeks.

๐Ÿ’ง The Float Test

Sinks = fresh, stands = use soon, floats = toss.

๐Ÿณ Cook Thoroughly

Always cook eggs until whites and yolks are firm to avoid foodborne illness.
